Overview
Join our client’s team as a Product and Project Executive, where you will play a key role in researching, evaluating, and coordinating new vehicle products for the Malaysian market. This position is ideal for a proactive, detail-oriented professional with strong technical understanding and project management skills, who can liaise with China principals and manage end-to-end product introduction projects. You will contribute directly to product strategy, approvals, and business development initiatives.
Job Scope
- Research and evaluate new vehicle products (vans, trucks, EVs, special vehicles) suitable for the Malaysian market.
- Analyze product specs, technical data, cost structures, and competitive positioning.
- Identify and engage China OEMs/principals, handle communication, documentation and follow-ups.
- Assist management in negotiating and finalizing distributorship/dealership agreements.
- Lead end-to-end new product introduction projects (China Malaysia approvals).
- Coordinate with China principals for BOM, drawings, technical documents, and sample units.
- Manage Vehicle Type Approval (VTA) submissions with authorities (SIRIM, MITI , etc)
- Request and compile all required test reports from China.
- Prepare proposals, comparison sheets, and internal briefing reports for management.
- Support business development activities and identify opportunities in new segments.
Job Qualifications & Requirements
- Minimum Degree in Business, Engineering, Automotive, or related field.
- Mandarin proficiency is mandatory (daily work with China principals).
- Strong communication skills in English and Bahasa Malaysia.
- Experience in product development, China sourcing, automotive, or project coordination is an advantage.
- Ability to understand technical specs and regulatory requirements.
- Strong coordination, follow-up, and project management skills.
- Highly organized, proactive, and able to work independently.
- Willing to travel (local and China) when needed.
